Italian Beef Lasagne

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling salted water for 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan, basil, and egg.
  6. Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
